metro san antonioMetro San Antonio is on Metro Line 7 (orange) is named for the avenue above, Avenida San Antonio. The avenue, in its turn, is named for Saint Anthony of Padua who is depicted in the station’s logo.

One of the most easily canonized of saints, Saint Anthony is remembered for knowing scripture and for his devotion to the poor and the sick. He was made a Doctor of the Church in 1946. That is, he was recognized for his significant contribution to theology or doctrine through research, study, and writing.

Saint Anthony is especially invoked and venerated as the patron saint for the recovery of lost items. In fact, he’s credited with lots of miracles involving the recovery of persons, possessions, and even spiritual states.

If you lose something in the Metro, however, it should be reported to the station chief of the station nearest to the loss.

The Office of Lost Objects (Oficina de Objetos Extraviados)
is in Metro Candelaria in the passageway between Lines 1 and 4.
