The Mercado Palacio de las Flores San Juan specializes in cut flowers. It’s another of the markets to have split off from the original San Juan Market, also on Calle Pugibet in San Juan Moyotlan. The others are the San Juan Arcos de Belén market and the San Juan Crafts and Curiosities Market.

An original building housing the market collapsed and was rebuilt in 1970. The new building has a two floors and is much bigger and brighter. The City totally rehabilitated and remodeled the building again in 2019.

One of the most colorful markets in the city, the Palacio has 74 vendors and each has a unique style. Flower arrangements are made to order, and according to customer taste and budget. It’s a great place for housewarming gifts including many hard-to-find varieties of flowers. Most of the vendors run family businesses, passed down from generation to generation. Every flower used there was cultivated and collected in the country.

The market is open everyday. Busiest days include St. Valentine’s and Mother’s Day. The Palacio de Las Flores is a fun and colorful stop on a walking tour of San Juan and the many sites, churches, and museums in this part of the Centro Histórico.
