Revuelta Queer House is an important cultural and community center for the Roma Norte LGBTQ+ community. Although the covered rooftop patio convinces some guests that it’s just another bar, is not too far from traditionally queer Zona Rosa. It’s also just a block south of the Avenida Chapultepec. Revuelta also provides home to a significant art gallery, plus meeting and party spaces. There’s even a small restaurant.
Opened in the Spring of 2023, the informal site took off quickly on nearly the last street in Roma Norte. Since then, the House has hosted especially queer art exhibitions. They’ve also held a regular slate of less formal events geared toward the LGBTQ+ community. Everyone is welcome. To date, they’ve hosted multiple exhibitions, workshops, talks, book launches and intimate concerts.
As the center has consolidated, guests have found ongoing informative and fun programming. Particularly well-attended art openings often follow up with nights of conversation, organized readings and Q&A sessions, and informal get-togethers. The now famous rooftop holds some 150 – 200 guests.
Revuelta is about a 6-minute walk east from the Glorieta de los Insurgentes. On the other side, the walk from Metro Cuauhtémoc is about three minutes longer.
