The Estela de Luz Center for Digital Culture serves as a physical and virtual meeting place. It’s dedicated to research in the cultural, social, and economic implications of digital technology in daily life. The cultural center also works as a forum for communication, artistic creation, and entertainment the objective of which is to promote awareness. What does it mean that  “users” are also the “creators” of digital culture?

Built underneath the Estela de Luz monument, the cultural space enjoys a privileged location with a gallery, and an interactive wall of light for exhibitions. Most of the work shown is made in collaboration with with visitors. A cinema and video room with capacity for 120 people shows programming from the Cineteca Nacional five days each week. There are also fooms for experimental theater, book and electronic publication presentations, workshops and courses.

The Center is dedicated to production, training, communication, and reflection on new cultural, social, and economic manifestations. The Center is among the best attended and most popular of cultural centers in the city, and not just because it’s very well situated at the entrance to the park. Estela de Luz Center for Digital Culture is groundbreaking in bringing more and better understanding to the entire public, including to those visiting from other countries.
