• José Solé (1929–2017) was a theater director, stage actor, and set designer. A promoter of classical theater, he was founder of the National Theater Company of Mexico, Emeritus Creator of the National Fund for Culture and the Arts and received the National Award for Sciences and Arts in 2008, the Bellas Artes Gold Medal, the Recognition of the Cervantino Festival and the Lunas del Auditorio, among other national and international awards.
