The Michmani Chinampa is a space for those interested in the ecology of the Xochimilco ecological system. The organization also runs tours that focus on the wildlife and plantlife. They also cover the history of this region and the subaquatic engineering and aagriculture of the chinampa farming system.
On the enormous Cuemanco
Visitors have the opportunity to experience the temazcal saunas, tour the canals on a canal boat, or visit some of the working farms. Michmani Chinampa also offers recreational fishing, camping trips and trail tours focused specifically on plant and animal life. The main entrance is a welcome center to the wildlife refuge which is home to several ajolote amphibians. These are the iconic xochimilco salamander. The refuge usually hosts several other endemic species.
Kayak tours, cabin rentals, and moonlight tours are also available. Kids get their own area with a playground and inflatable slides.
