Lagos Studio and Residency Space

Lagos fills a strong need for is studio and residency space in Mexico City, especially for younger Mexico City artists. Dedicated to the production and development of art projects and exhibitions, the organization supports artists and promotes collaboration between artists and others working in the field.

The residency program within the Anáhuac studio building generally presents artists in the early years of their careers.  Resident artists develop projects on site and these are later presented to the public, often in events that spill out into the neighborhood and often well outside the normal boundaries of artistic conversation.

Likely one of the city’s most energetic spaces, the number of residents and participating artists has kept the Lagos schedule full over the course of the past several years. And the organization generally maintains a strong presence in some of the city’s, and some international art fairs.
