The Patricia Conde Galería has been one of the leading contemporary art galleries focused on contemporary photography. Since 2009, the gallery has focused on the promotion of diverse photographic practices.
The space itself, in San Miguel Chapultepec, has become a reference point for photography in Mexico and abroad. The gallery also maintains an archive of the work of some of the most important photographers on the Mexican scene. Together, the archive and exhibition space are intended to generate dialogue on photographic technique, roots, limits, and possible futures.
The gallery has been active in photography fairs including Paris Photo and AIPAD. They’re also active in Zona Maco Arte Contemporáneo and Zona Maco Foto in Mexico City.
As an “inclusive alternative” for the photographic scene in Mexico and Mexico City, the gallery is an important part of the San Miguel Chapultepec art scene as well that in the broader City.
The Patricia Conde Galería was widely acclaimed for innovative responses to the pandemic of 2020-2021. Newer approaches to digital outreach and exhibition brought in new talent and presented it to an entirely new audience. This was despite the seemingly overwhelming circumstances of lockdown, quarantine, and adversity.
