Arena Ciudad de México

The Arena de la Ciudad de Mexico,  the Mexico City Arena, is the leading indoor sports and entertainment venue in the City. In Azcapotzalco, it’s just north of Polanco. It’s been open only since 2012 and has a capacity for about 25,000 spectators depending on the type of event.

• Construction began in 2009.
• The arena stands on the former livestock yards of the Ferrería Trail.
• On about eight hectares, it’s the first arena in the city to offer ample parking.
• There are also two helipads, 124 luxury viewing suites, and 850 LCD screens.
• The outdoor LED screen is a massive 6,200 square meters.
• Inside the arena, another central LED screen is among the biggest in the world at some 700 square meters.
• Prior to this arena, no new indoor sports facility had opened since the Palacio de los Deportes in 1968.

The Mexico City Arena is operated by Zignia, which presents about 120 events each year. Among these are national and international performing artists, wrestling, boxing, and similar indoor sports along with a variety of entertainment spectacles.

Near the Metro Ferrería / Arena de Ciudad de México station, it’s a roughly 12-minute walk. Tickets are available directly from the Arena de la Ciudad de México website.
