INTERCITY BUSES FROM THE AIRPORT
The Mexico City airport has two ground terminals operating 24 hours, 365 days each year. Both terminals are served by numerous buslines. From the airport, regular bus service goes to major cities near Mexico City including Cuernavaca, Pachuca, Puebla, Tlaxcala, Toluca, Querétaro, Córdoba and San Juan del Río, among others.

There are eight Trolebús lines, the most frequently used (by visitors) being the Eje Central trolebus that proceeds between the Centro de Autobuses del Norte in the north and the Centro de Autobuses del Sur. Attached to cables, they keep the city free of some exhaust fumes and run between lots of different metro stations.
Prices are paid in cash between five and seven pesos, with exact change. The operating hours will vary depending on the line but some will run all night.
Other Mexico City buses follow fixed routes but do not follow dedicated lanes, and so they’re as often as not delayed by traffic congestion. Drivers will quote a cash price between five and seven pesos upon entry.
Although the Metro Card is being integrated into the entirety of the citywide bus fare system, as of this writing, all other city buses require cash payment upon boarding.
RTP buses provide the bulk of Public Transportation Service in Mexico City and broadly intersect with all Metro stations.

ATENEA bus service, just for female passengers, currently runs about 52 routes, business days from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Shown in the photo at the top of this page, Eco-friendly buses that run on compressed natural gas operate over a few, traditionally heavily-trafficked routes. These include routes from Metro Balderas to Santa Fe, and from Metro Miguel Angel de Quevedo to Santa Fe. The cost is 5 pesos.
Nightbus provides overnight bus service from 00:00 to 05:00 hours, seven days a week along limited routes. The cost is seven pesos.
The city refers to the smaller buses serving minor routes as “concessioned services.” That means that while they are owned and operated by private owners, they are regulated and the drivers and vehicles need permits to do so.
Up to 05 kilometers costs five pesos, 05 to 12 kilometers 5.50 pesos, more than 12 kilometers, 6.50 pesos
