Mexico City’s annual Christmas Festival is taking place in the ó. The biggest free Christmas event in the City, it’s running from December 16 to 31.
The festival includes amusement park rides and eight recreation areas. The main stage includes ongoing musical performances. Perhaps the highlight is a giant snow slide and monumental trees of poinsettias raised just for the event.
Schedule:
The festival is open daily from 12 noon to 9 p.m. with certain days to include special events.
The festival includes a 14-meter Ferris wheel, a 50-person carousel, Santa’s train, a Fireman’s game, and a small farm. Audiovisual projections include Mexican Christmas-themed animations. A Christmas village is surrounded by giant poinsettia trees.
Guests should enter from Francisco I. Madero or 20 de Noviembre streets.
Face masks and the use of antibacterial gel are mandatory and those who fail to comply will be asked to leave. The consumption and sale of food and refreshments is extremely limited within the Zócalo so guests will want to eat prior to arriving.
The entire Zócalo area is loaded with things to see and do. It’s the highest concentration of sites and attractions anywhere in Mexico City.
