Geology and Paleontology Museum (Museo de Geología y Paleontología)

The precedents of the Geology and Paleontology Museum date back from 1973, although the collection’s integration was made in 1980. Diverse Earth phenomena and the ways we utilize the resources which come from it are explained in this museum. For instance, how to extract oil or how a volcano erupts.

The museum is composed of three sections: mineralogy, petrology and paleontology. More than 600 mineral samples, 308 rocks and 300 fossil samples are exhibited as well as precious stones and one diamond. This museum is managed by Instituto Politécnico Nacional.
