Galería Divart opened in 1983, when director, Isaac Green began working with artists like Rufino Tamayo, Rossy Green, Víctor Villarreal, Víctor Gutiérrez, Leonardo Nierman, Marco Antonio Zepeda. With their support, the first gallery opened in the Camino Real Hotel.

  • Mexico City galleries have historically done good business in seeking the international market in the hotels where guests from abroad have congregated. This in part explains the concentration of galleries in and around Polanco’s international hotels district.

Today, the Divart Gallery, having relocated across the park to the JW Marriott Hotel has turned an artistic corner too. With firm roots in mid-century Surrealism, the gallery has especially promoted the newer trends toward a revival in Comedia dell’arte themes. The gallery also proudly specializes in Hyper-Realist works from the late 20th century. Altogether, viewers and guests get much more whimsical take on where visual arts are headed.

With a policy of offering outstanding service, attention, and quality, Galería Divart is also one of the few to openly offer:

  • Framing
  • Restoration services
  • Valuation of paintings and sculptures.
  • Art installation and placement
  • International shipping and export service
  • Crating and packaging

For international visitors, such services can be a good thing if you’ve happened upon that must have work from your favorite artist.

Hours: Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sundays:  9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
