Day 3 of a 7-Day Mexico City Travel Itinerary

On Day 3 we want to get to world-famous Xochimilco.

We can start at the Xochimilco Light Rail Station. (Lower left in the map.) You get there, easily, from Metro Tasqueña on Line 2 of the Metro.

The point of the day is to spend a few hours paddling the ancient canals. It's not just fascinating, but effortless and even comforting.

All the 13 boat launch areas are listed here.
Tips and tricks for doing Xochimilco right. There's no haggling! Prices are fixed.
Don't miss the chance to walk (not float) some of the central neighborhoods of Xochimilco. There are 17 beautiful and ancient neighborhoods - the Barrios Originarios - that just get more fascinating. And you can walk a few of them in just ten minutes.
Xochimilco's market dates from ancient times, and it's a wonder of food, flavor, and tradition.
Why not end up at the Xochimilco Archaeological Museum?

Remember, the map is intended so you always know what's nearby. You won't see everything, but you'll see a lot more.
