The Foro Cultural Chapultepec is a performing arts theater and cultural center on the very edge of the Chapultepec Forest. The Foro grew out of the Centro Deportivo Chapultepec, on the same grounds, in an effort to expand the cultural offering to members. Today, as a theater, the Foro offers a modern setting for plays, concerts, conferences, film screenings, exhibitions, and related cultural activities. Nearly all events are open to the public.
The Centro Deportivo, with an impressive collection of art all its own, was long known as more than a sports club. In 2010, the Foro opened just south of the 60-year-old sports club. The first play, El Gesticulador got accolades. Since then, as a theater it’s only grown in stature, and drawn on its reputation for serving not just the nearby Polanco community. Many productions have drawn audiences from all over central Mexico. The Foro maintains a long standing tradition of presenting children’s theater and productions geared especially to younger audiences and casts.
