Salón Corona (Calle Gante)

Embedded in a pedestrian street of the Historic Center, this establishment of long popular tradition is a pillar of mass consumption and uninhibited socializing in the capital.

Its architecture shows narrow aisles, utilitarian tables arranged a short distance from each other, tiled walls, and constant noise originating from the high flow of diners.

The sound of the place depends largely on the street musicians.

Norteño ensembles, huapango performers, lone accordionists, and small mariachi groups constantly enter through the open doors to offer songs directly to the tables, guaranteeing a dose of acoustic music paid for by the cantina’s own visitors.

The demographic profile is one of the most diverse in the downtown area, bringing together office workers on a break, tourists resting, families, and passersby sharing nearby tables.

The menu is of quick preparation and direct focus. Tacos al pastor, octopus tortas, shrimp broth, and quesadillas are the gastronomic base of the house.

The bar operates by non-stop dispatching mugs of dark and light draft beer (the place’s flagship product), bottled soft drinks, and simple shots of traditional liquors.
