Football Festivals and more

The Mexican capital, the only host city to hold three FIFA World Cups, is preparing to experience a celebration that will transcend the stands of the Mexico City Stadium (Estadio Banorte) and take over the public space. The Government of Mexico City has organized an impressive network of 18 free Football Festivals, designed so that the passion for football can be experienced in every corner of the metropolis.

The festivals, conceived as safe and family-friendly spaces, will offer much more than the broadcasting of the matches; they will be authentic centers of coexistence where sports activities—such as teqball tournaments, fut-tennis, and pick-up games (cascaritas)—will intertwine with a rich cultural and gastronomic offer. Seven of these venues will operate during the 39 days of the tournament, broadcasting the 104 matches, while the rest will screen the most emblematic encounters, including those of the Mexican National Team.
