Jardín Escénico de Chapultepec

Integrated as one of the most outstanding urban recovery spaces of the Chapultepec, Nature and Culture project, this large venue pays tribute to the performing arts by breaking with the traditional formats of closed halls. Throughout its almost 7 hectares, its contemporary architecture uses elevated walkways and a landscape design that highlights endemic flora and pollinator gardens.

The sound profile of this venue is oriented towards large acoustic format performing arts and chamber music. Constantly, the Scenic Pavilion and its annex, the Scenic Creation Laboratory, receive public rehearsals, concerts by international ensembles, choirs, and theatrical plays. The structural design takes advantage of natural sound diffusion in a completely open format, allowing national and international artistic expressions to flow among the trees.

The place summons a diverse public: families on walks, tourists, and music lovers who attend prepared with blankets to sit on the neighboring meadows to listen to the ensembles. Behavior is usually peaceful and fosters the respectful use of public spaces for the appreciation of art.

Although it does not have formal long-tablecloth restaurants installed in the forum, the space integrates its own cafeteria that complements the visitor’s experience.

Access to the presentations is usually free and open, operating logistically through direct occupancy capacity in the seats or in the surrounding green areas. It represents one of the freshest and most open options in the capital to enjoy cultivated music under the city sky.
