Estadio Fray Nano

Built within the huge Magdalena Mixiuhca Sports City complex in the eastern part of the capital, the Estadio Fray Nano enjoys a highly accessible location. Its proximity to major road axes and mass transit stations makes it an easy-to-reach venue, framed by the dynamic and traditional environment of the Jardín Balbuena neighborhood.

Built and inaugurated in 1957, this baseball diamond functioned for decades as the seedbed and main home for various formative organizations. For a long time, it was the immovable headquarters of the Centropolitana League, an amateur circuit that forged thousands of local players and kept the passion for the hot ticket alive in the bowels of Mexico City.

Its history took a massive leap towards professionalism in 2014 when it was announced that the colossus of Magdalena Mixiuhca would serve as the official home of the Diablos Rojos del México. The venue underwent a remodeling that expanded its capacity to over 5,000 spectators, improving the lighting, seating, and turf to meet the standards of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) between the 2015 and 2018 seasons.

Following the Diablos Rojos’ move to their new definitive stadium, the Fray Nano was not abandoned. The building resumed its strong formative and amateur vocation, opening its renovated doors to local leagues, baseball academies, and youth tournaments that now enjoy playing on a field with top-level infrastructure.

Visiting this stadium is connecting with the most authentic trench of sports in the capital. Its intimate atmosphere allows you to clearly hear the impact of the bat and the excitement of the stands, also consolidating it as a versatile space capable of hosting cultural shows and massive events.

How to get there: The Mixiuhca and Velódromo stations (Metro Line 9) are closest to the venue, requiring only a short walk through the walkways and streets of the Jardín Balbuena neighborhood to reach its entrances.
