Los Los Pinos station

This station rises at the eastern end of the route, functioning as the grand gateway to the cable car system and an unbeatable starting point to delve into the First Section of the Chapultepec Forest. The venue owes its name to its immediate proximity to the Los Pinos Cultural Complex, a fifty-six-hectare polygon that for over eight decades served as the official and hermetic residence of Mexico’s presidents. Its strategic location allows travelers to step out of the cabins and walk directly into the country’s political history.
The station’s surroundings invite exploration of a space that, since opening to the public in 2018, has radically transformed its purpose. Visitors can stroll along the old cobblestone walkways and freely access the Casa Miguel Alemán, where the elegance of the reception halls and presidential offices now coexists with an underground bunker that has been opened as a small movie theater. This transformation turned the area into a vibrant hub for community gatherings, contemporary art exhibitions, and open-air cultural fairs.
A few steps from the Cablebús facilities, the visitor also discovers the historic Molino del Rey building, which today houses Cencalli: the House of Corn and Food Culture. This museum pays deep homage to national biodiversity and agricultural knowledge, featuring an agroecological market where traditional cooks prepare ancestral recipes right in front of visitors. The node offers a complete immersion into the nation’s gastronomic and cultural wealth before continuing the journey.
As a piece of mobility infrastructure, the station stands out for its excellent urban integration, connecting seamlessly with the underground transit system. Those arriving from other parts of the capital can use the nearby Constituyentes station on Metro Line 7, facilitating an organic transfer that links the city center with the heights of the forest. It is, without a doubt, a spectacular start to a day of tourism and discovery.
Location: Calzada del Rey s/n (adjacent to Av. Parque Lira), Chapultepec Forest 1st Section, Miguel Hidalgo Borough.
Hours: The Cablebús operates Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 23:00, Saturdays from 06:00 to 23:00, and Sundays from 07:00 to 23:00. The Los Pinos Cultural Complex is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00.
How to get there?: The Constituyentes station (Metro Line 7) is just a few steps from the cable car station and the main entrance to the Los Pinos Cultural Complex.
