The second section of the Bosque de Chapultepec houses one of the most avant-garde scientific venues on the continent. The Museo Nacional de Energía y Tecnología emerges as an interactive space where innovation, sustainability, and environmental reflection converge. Visitors discover here an immersive platform designed exclusively with the purpose of imagining the country’s energy futures.

The grounds once occupied by the old Technological Museum of the Federal Electricity Commission house this renewed project today. Government institutions such as the National Infrastructure Fund joined forces, successfully transforming the property into a completely unprecedented educational complex, giving way to a modern vision focused on global technological evolution.

Enrique Norten conceived the architectural design, firmly committing to a contemporary and dynamic building. Asymmetrical volumes interact harmoniously with the surrounding nature, while the renowned American firm of Ralph Appelbaum articulated a spectacular museography. High-definition screens, digital whiteboards, and mapping projections make up a sensory journey that demystifies complex concepts such as nuclear energy or geothermal power.

Ten thematic halls make up the main core of the venue, addressing crucial areas such as electricity, fossil fuels, wind power, and bioenergy. The visitor directly experiences the processes of electricity generation and distribution through absolutely fascinating tactile installations. Temporary immersive exhibitions like the Blow Up Experience integrate robotic lights and visual resources, proving that learning about climate resilience is extremely fun.

Scientific vocations are awakened thanks to the place’s pedagogical approach. Interactive tours constantly foster critical thinking regarding the excessive consumption of natural resources. Temporary programs complement the permanent offer, turning the visit into an indispensable living laboratory in the face of global ecological challenges.
