LA OLA más grande del mundo

THE BIGGEST MEXICAN WAVE IN THE WORLD

The 1986 World Cup saw the birth of an unparalleled global phenomenon in the stadiums of the Mexican capital. The famous “Mexican Wave” celebrates 40 years of having transformed the way sports are experienced, becoming a universal symbol of joy, brotherhood, and euphoria that today sweeps through stands across the planet. Mexico City commemorates these four decades on the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup by organizing a monumental challenge.

The goal consists of making history by setting, for the first time, the official Guinness World Record for the largest human wave in the world. The Ola Chilanga seeks to gather thousands of  people executing a massive action in perfect collective synchrony, capable of transforming into a spectacular human tide that will travel down Reforma Avenue to the Glorieta del caballito.

The event will become a celebration dedicated to inclusion, fraternity, and diversity. Thus, the metropolis welcomes visitors from all countries, cultures, gender expressions, and urban tribes. Local and foreign attendees, entire families, people with disabilities, indigenous communities, and the LGBTQ+ community will once again demonstrate to the world that Mexico City is a safe and open-door space. Together in a celebration that erases any border.
