The 2023 Tourism Tianguis (Tianguis Turístico México 2023) is coming to Mexico City. It’s the biggest event in Mexico’s tourism industry and this is the first time it’s happening in the Mexican capital city.

March 26 – to 29, 2023

Centro CitiBanamex

There’s information on the venue, here.

The four day event is intended to provide support to the suppliers and buyers related to the industry and across the country

As a major center for tourism in and of itself, Mexico City is promoting the event as a chance to highlight the city’s fascinating history, culture, and educational setting. The City was especially selected to host the event due to the extensive business infrastructure.

With more than 180 museums, second only to London, it’s a marvel of a World Capital. No fewer than four sites have been declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. These include the Historic Center, Xochimilco, the UNAM CU Campus, and the Casa Luis Barragán.

But this, the 47th Tourism Tianguis, is especially focused on inclusion and accessibility. The City has been recognized world-wide for efforts made toward sexual and ethnic diversity, and for innovation in providing the world’s biggest free wifi zone. The City won 37 awards in these areas and in recovering public spaces, fighting climate change, protecting animal species, and for innovating public parks and ecological areas. Chapultepec even won “Best Park in the World” in 2019.

Those interested in participating in the Tianguis Turistico can visit the website, here. Many of the forums and events that require advanced registration can be reviewed there. There’s also a list of good hotels near the event venue and in sites and locations all over Mexico City.
